While the Chinese New Year celebrations are on, yum cha is heavenly and entertaining. Otherwise, any excuse to enjoy yum cha will do. You feel like a kid in a candy store as the waitresses move back and forth pushing trolleys with tasty delicacies. You'd be lucky if they did not bump into your seat sometimes. Before you know it, a full table of food mounts. Is the best yum cha available in Chinatown? Somewhere else in the city? Or in the suburbs?

The best ever Yum Cha I have been to in all of Australia is "Fortune Palace Yum Cha", 372 Pennant Hills Road, Carlingford, New South Wales 2118. They have a fantastic selection, and they do 20% off your bill on weekdays. They cook some items to order on a hot plate which is outside of the kitchen, in the dining area, so you can go up to them and request what you want, getting it delivered hot and fresh to your table! The staff are so helpful and friendly, and are always willing to help 'whities' learn the names of dishes, and let you know what is in certain dumplings. Definitely the best Yum Cha in Sydney!
Brilliant picture :)
Crystal Seafood Restaurant in Strathfield -very authentic yum cha experience and delicious dim sums.
Yum Cha in Sydney is just divine. Love Marigold Citymark - level 5 on George Street near the trams. Fresh dumplings...mmmm. Some people I go with love their mango pancakes. Otherwise Zilver Restaurant on Pitt Street near Surry Hills is also great.
Brookvale Chinese Restaurant has a great Yum Cha menu. Service is excellent and food delicious.
Mr Wong in the city does a great yum cha lunch
