Some new Mexican liquorice being handed out to guests on a recent food walking tour
The sweetest shops in Sydney can easily be dubbed as being positively dangerous in a loving way. The shop one has in mind sells some magic salted caramel popcorn made in the USA, as well as guilt free munch crunches among the sweetest treat of all - chocolate. Where is the best sweets shop in Sydney?
Happy Lab in Westfield Sydney is heaps of fun, and they also have a store at Westfield in Bondi Junction. A great variety of different treats can be found here, including five different combinations of chocolate spreads. Help yourself to a decent supply of lollies for only $5. Their healthy munch crunches are fantastic - only 4 for $10.
Happy Lab is very cool! I was so sad when they closed the one in Town Hall!
Maybe not a sweet shop per se, but definitely place that has to be visited by chocolate lovers : Max Brenner. Offers amazing chocolate treats,, waffles and brownies, milkshakes and ice creams.... As a plus- it is a cafe, with a great ambient, which makes it all more enjoyable .
If you have kids and you want them to be spellbound and quiet for at least ten minutes, take them to Sticky at the Rocks and watch them make a batch of their specialty hard candy. It's all done the old-fashioned way by hand, with hot slabs of molten sugar that are formed into detailed designs right in front of you - if you're lucky, they'll let you try a warm piece when they're finished. Otherwise they have a delicious range of handmade hard candies, even souvenir Sydney ones! http://sticky.com.au/
