Two nights ago, I went to Circular Quay in Sydney to practise night photography for the very first time. It was such wonderful practise - I captured long exposure images of the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and city buildings. On long exposure, the ferries made wonderful streaks of light across several images. I'm hoping to practise night photography some more though and am not very sure on where else to visit.
I agree, and such an awesome question. Night photography in Sydney is back in vogue. I would have to say anywhere along Sydney Harbour and Pier One. Speaking of which, Vivid Sydney is coming up soon. A perfect chance to come out at night and take some beautiful shots.
Definitely any of the places taking part in Vivid Sydney - with everything lit up, the nights are beautiful!
Otherwise Blues Point Reserve in MacMahon's Point is beautiful at night time. It overlooks the water, and you can see both the bridge and the Opera House. Even better, you've also got Luna Park, which is so pretty all lit up at night.
Directly in front of Luna Park is a beautiful spot too. You can take photos of the park, or turn around and get amazing shots of the bridge and water.
