Gardens are wonderful places for relaxing amongst greenery, and flowers add a splash of colour and vibrancy to the surrounds. But where is the best place in Sydney to see beautiful roses and rare flowers?
I agree with Lydia, the Royal Botanic Gardens is the first place that always comes to mind. Otherwise that massive nursery (name is blank now) in North Ryde near the M2 would be another great choice - that is if this nursery is still there - in the business park area past McDonald's.
You might enjoy getting involved with Open Gardens Australia. Every weekend gorgeous private gardens are open to the public for a small entry fee. Each is different...some are in the country, some are in the city, some feature native plants and others are more traditional rose gardens, etc. Have a look at their website... http://www.opengarden.org.au/
I enjoy all the gardens in the Royal Botanic Gardens, & I thoroughly enjoy the Sutherland Shire Council gardens in Sutherland, to the left of the Council building, when there in ill bloom, as they replant, due to the seasons.
