Immerse yourself in nature. Have fun. Be happy through bushwalking in Sydney.

There comes a time where fit, healthy people want to venture out into the bush and immerse themselves in nature. This is where the essentials come in - such as covering up and staying hydrated, and not to mention wearing comfortable walking shoes. Where is the best place to go bushwalking in Sydney? Is it inside a national park? Do we have to travel far from the city? Is it safe - as in no nasty inspects and animals nearby or on the ground? Is this destination great for larger groups, of say at least 8-10 people walking together? Or perhaps better for smaller numbers?

North Head is also a great spot. It has stunning views along the way.
It's only open a few weekends a year, but Muogamarra Nature Reserve in Sydney's north is beautiful and full of wildflowers and amazing views.
Some fantastic bushwalking destinations, and not in any particular order:

1. The Blue Mountains
2. Spit Bridge to Manly
3. Manly Beach to Shelley Beach/heads
4. In Engadine
5. Small pockets of Elkington Park in Balmain

All that comes to mind for now.
Ah yes, and Lane Cove National Park too.
The Spit to Manly walk is gorgeous. There is plenty of gorgeous scenery and an array of beaches to choose from as you walk. Well worth taking the day to make the most of them all
