If you're like me, you've left your Valentine's Day gift to the last minute, and you still don't know what to buy. You could opt for the traditional red-themed, romantic range, featuring fluffy bears and roses. Or you could go the extra mile to find something more personal. Or you could very well do both. So where did you go to find your special Valentine's Day gift in Sydney? Or where would you suggest for anyone who's still clueless?

Octopus Design in Newtown has heaps of really cute, eclectic gifts. They're perfect for that person who already has everything, someone that appreciates something well-made or someone who likes to have a laugh. They've got a great Valentine-themed range at the moment.
David Jones Food Hall - Market Street Sydney City. Come on Friday, and you will get to buy some pink chocolate dipped strawberries. Mmmmm....

Blokes, if you have tired of buying lovers jewellery, underwear, flowers, chocolates, cookware (some women actually love to get practical stuff), or booze, maybe try something a bit more offbeat. There is a really quirky gift shop under the QVB called Pylones. Filled with wonderfully animated little bits and pieces from paper clip dispensers, to cheese graters, to umbrellas, tote bags and generally a whole lot of colourful frippery.
For jewellery that's a little bit different, and for items for both men and women, Thomas Sabo always has a great range. Love themed cupcakes are always a sweet idea, available from anywhere from Cupcakes on Pitt to the Cupcake Bakery in the QVB etc, and there are always great experiences to think about too, such as tickets to climb the Harbour Bridge, dinner at 360 Degrees on top of Sydney Tower or a picnic at one of the city parks with gourmet goodies from somewhere like David Jones Foodhall. If your partner is into any particular activity be it golf, art, paintball, yoga or anything else vouchers for all of these are available in different parts of Sydney.
