Gorgeous. Many Sydneysiders love their antique fare. You find many Sydneysiders from all different ages and bacgrounds telling you how fantastic Antiques Roadshow is on TV. Now that is saying something. Where is the best place to buy antiques in Sydney?
There is a beautiful antiques place in Pymble, and for the life of me I cannot remember the name of this place. Otherwise I like the Sydney Antique Centre in Moore Park - floors of great antiques here. Went there for an art exhibition initially, and have been impressed since. Even if you don't love antiques, you will love it here.
My favourite antiques shop is in the north western suburb of Epping. "Home Again" has some great stuff which is laid out with just the right amount of haphazard flair to make you feel like you've entered a secret treasure trove. I have spent hours in reading old diaries and looking at old photos.
If you're up in the Blue Mountains there are endless antique stores everywhere. My favourite though would have to be Macarthur's Arcade in Katoomba which I wrote about for Sydney Fun. It's just so fun to dig around and see what you can find.
