It's the heart of every living room, and always surprising how many different varieties and styles are out there. I've just been sofa shopping, and found some stores helpful and fun to shop in, and others less so.
Where in Sydney do you think is the best place to buy a sofa or couch?
I found Dare in the Homemaker HQ centre at Atarmon had some beautiful couches and sofas (like the one pictured). However I ended up making my purchase at Freedom in the same shopping centre - they had many similar couches, only for about half the price. Staff were friendly and unobtrusive as well, which is great when you want to park yourself down on a bunch of couches to test their comfort.
I think that depends on your budget. I'm sure there are some amazing bargains if you keep a sharp eye on websites like eBay or Gumtree. Of course there would be some sofas of shocking quality too, but some decent quality pieces do come up from time to time. I personally love wandering around Freedom Furniture and Homewares in Top Ryde Shopping Centre because the stores aren't too crowded and you can browse at your leisure.
I am definitely an IKEA fan although you really need to go in and have a sit in them before you buy because the cheaper ones are sometimes very uncomfortable. For extreme comfort, (if you are not worried about cost) head to Freedom Furniture and Nick Scali.
