Some Sydney kids having a lovely time at this popular outdoor playground
Every parent or carer wants to hunt down the best place for their kids to play in Sydney. What entertains kids the most? Parks or multi-purpose playgrounds? Is this place a free, open space? Or a place where there is an entry fee involved? Do I need to bring swimmers for my kids to change into? Is there a kiosk on site? BBQ facilities? Plenty of space for the adults to chill out and supervise their kids?
One of my favourites is the playground on Clontarff Beach. It is very near the water ( this beach has a designated area for kids to swim and play), it's in the shade with lots of interesting and challenging fixtures. There are benches and picnic tables around, all in the shade of trees, as well as the coffee shop where one can buy fish and chips and icecream.
One of my favourite playgrounds is at Clifton Gardens in Mosman - enclosed playground, which is shaded and the surrounding area is stunning. It is located near the beach, which has no waves and there is also a cafe, picnic tables, barbecues and a basketball court.

If you are out in the suburbs Putney Park is the go... especially for the under 4yr olds. There are 2 wading pools with a stream, a huge slide, a recently updated playground, BBQ's and right by the water. No entry fee here. My kids enjoyed it immensely when they were small.
