Sydney parents, you're given a multitude of choices here. Where do you start? Who do you turn to for a bit of advice? How does your family plan those fun days out? For your family, do you prefer more adventurous activities? Or perhaps something a little more laid back? What other factors are taken into consideration when choosing a kid friendly activity to enjoy? The weather? Transport? Affordability? Popularity? Time periods?

During summer, it's definitely a day at the beach. Our favourite is Clontarf Reserve, as it has no waves, there is a large park which provides plenty of shade and a kiosk for the all important coffee and ice cream.

During winter, junior enjoys skateboarding at Monster Skate Park at Homebush or ice skating at Macquarie Ice Rink,
Adding to already mentioned activities ( Clontarf Reserve it's our favourite too ), few of my personal favourites:
Visits to the museum- do not miss Australian Miseum, it is very kids friendly with lots of activities during the whole year and especially during the school holidays. They have great Kids Space and wonderful programs for unedr 5s, as well as pretty great Search& Discover Room and cool Birthday Party programs for litlle older kids.

Another great place ic Aquarium in Darling Harbour. A bit on the pricey side, but still great day out, educational and enjoyable for the whole family.

Place for wonderful day of outdoor activity is Featherdale Woldilfe Park, Doonside ( Blacktown area) - kids can feed wallabies and cuddle the coalas, andi t is a great place to take family coming to visit from overeseas, so they can meet Australian animals. They also have very nice Birthday Party Program.
Some great ideas, and they're not in any order of preference:

1. Manly Ferry, and then at Manly Beach. If time, Manly Oceanworld.
2. Taronga Zoo
3. Darling Quarter - playground area
4. Beaches
5. Aquatic Centres, especially Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.
