As the weather starts to cool down, I start thinking about comfort eating. Being so long since I've been to an Italian restaurant (I live in an area with fantastic asian restaurants) I want to know which are your favourite, and which dish I should order if I go there. I'm salivating just thinking about your answers...

Casa di Nico on King St Wharf is fantastic. Has a genuine italian feel (I especially loved the red and white checkered tablecloths) and great food and wine to match. They do really great bread platters and their gnocchi with pumpkin and feta is amazing. Their pizzas are top-notch too - I've tried a lot of margheritas but theirs is definitely up there with the best.
Another great answer :)
Anywhere on Norton Street (especially in The Italian Forum) you can't go wrong. Also The Onion Tree at Brighton is great.
There's a place in Haberfield called Napoli in Bocca that makes really great Pizza. Theres a few other Italian places on the same street which are good aswell like Dolcissimo.
Great answer :)
If you're looking for a gem in the west, I can not go past Grano in Whetherill Park or Gigino in Fairfield. Great to see some great Italian resturants nearby! And the best part ... it's as authentic as it gets! Just like Nonna's homemade meals, who doesn't love that?
Great answer Mel :)
