Italian cuisine is also at the heart of our Australian culture when it comes to eating out. Who makes pizza and pasta like nonna does around Sydney?

Italian cuisine has to be hands down the best in my eyes. I recently discovered a gem in Surry Hills called Franco Franco (http://francofranco.com.au) which has literally the best pasta I have ever tried. The place makes you feel like your almost in Italy (with the Italian accents of their staff how could it not!). They are a bit on the pricy side, but if you want real traditional/homely Italian tasting food this is the place for you.
Any Italian place in North St or Brighton-Le-Sands you can't go wrong. Also love Vanto at the QVB.
Like the new pic! :)

Thanks heaps jonaj - official - it stays! Also North St - not sure where that came from, I was meaning Norton St!
Little italy in Allawah make gourmet pizzas, pastas, veal and chicken mains and the best entree i have ever tried that they serve like an italian style san choy bow. Great service. Average prices. And mouth watering sauces! The best bolognese sauce I have ever tried.
Once upon a time Bill and Tonis on Stanley st, Darlinghurst was my favourite. I webt there since i was a kid so it holds a dear place in my heart. Feels like grandmas cooking everytime I go. Still in its original state. I like that about it.

Mezzanote in Dee Why is a great local joint that has been a great restaurant for years! For city centre and great pizza, head to Frankies bar/pizzeria on Hunter st.
Macchiato Sydney WOW WOW tasty with a Italian Tuscan Decor
I can't say I've had all that much traditional Italian food - I just stick with Adam's Pizzeria in Stanmore for my woodfired deliciousness (Mancini's in Dulwich Hill is rad too), or Crust Annandale for a big BBQ chicken bad boy.
