See, not all iced coffees in Sydney are created equal
Iced coffees in Sydney are definitely not created equal. This is my take on the iced coffee scene in Sydney anyway. Some cafes serve cream on their iced coffees while others don't. Where is the best iced coffee in Sydney?
The key to a good iced coffee is to frequent places that know how to treat coffee full stop. If they know how to do it hot, they can probably do it cold, even if you have to ask for no cream or ice cream. Good options around Sydney's CBD include Reuben Hills and Sample Coffee in Surry Hills (Albion and Devonsire st respectively). Both Purple Moose in Alexandria and Coffee Alchemy in Marrickville have created something special though - the 'sparkler' which is a fizzy, taste bud tingling option and you know the coffee is treated with the respect it deserves in these places. Highly recommended to drop by Purple Moose if you are near Alexandria!
In Newtown, right off the busyness of King Street. For only $3.50, you can enjoy a quality iced coffee at Brewtown Newtown, as pictured. That real arabica and well roasted coffee taste with a few ice cubes. It takes a while to devour. It is awesome and great value for money :)
The Mars Hill Cafe, does a cracking good iced coffee, with marvellous coffee expertly blended by their barista, but as splendid as it tastes you go to Mars Hill as much for the ambience as anything else. Mars Hill is an art gallery and also a live music venue, I think they also occasionally do poetry readings if that's your thing. Poetry and iced coffee is tres beatnik, n'est-ce pas?
