There are lots of hospitals across Sydney, but which one offers the best food, care, location, facilities and doctors? Which hospitals would you recommend to people not familiar with the area, and in need of an emergency room or an operation?
My family and friends have always had great care at The Sydney Adventist hospital (The SAN) in Wahroonga. I have to admit, my favourite part of The SAN is its food because it is pretty much all vegetarian. The emergency department team are all lovely and helpful which is nice when you a freaking out.
Agree, another great hospital. At some private hospitals in Sydney, patients can also order meals for their families and friends - that way everyone can sit together and eat. You can't do that at public hospitals. I owe you 3 karma points now.
Not one of my favourite places, which you want to avoid like the plague. Have received excellent care at RPA when I had to visit their emergency department twice in two months for water related incidents - severe sunburn and seasickness while deep sea fishing, and a bluebottle sting while surfing. A family member recently had hip and knee surgery there, and the care was excellent. Acupuncture on medicare at Balmain Hospital is also a good treatment.
I agree that RPA Hospital is excellent - I have a friend who was taken care of there for her chronic illness. Westmead Hospital is also quite good. The emergency section is very efficient and the service rooms are good too.
