More and more people consider their pets a part of their families. But when you want to go away on holidays, you can't always bring them with you. What pet sitting or dog minding services would you recommend in Sydney?
I have relatives who will happily look after my dog when they can, but when I was away over the Christmas break for a couple of days and I knew they wouldn't be around, I used the services offered by Doggy Walking. They match you up with a minder who has the dog in their own home, and you can meet them prior to the stay to make sure you are comfortable with them. If not, they will find you someone else.
The lady my dog stayed with was wonderful, and I'd gladly use her again. She had two grown sons who took him for daily walks, and two younger sons who played with him all the time. He also had an ear infection and they gave him his drops every day (it was cleared up by the time we came back).
I'll also say that the prices are very fair, in fact much cheaper than a lot of dog kennels. And when I got my little guy back, he was much less stressed than he has been after kennel stays.
Personally, I can't vouch for how good they are but some friends told me about pet nannies who operate across Sydney who deserve recognition for their name alone - Hairy Poppins. Hilarious. The website is www.hairypoppins.com.au/
