Dance is such a great way to keep fit and socialise with new people, and Sydney has almost endless options for adult dance classes. Ballet, contemporary, salsa, belly dancing, general fitness and even pole dancing. Some you need to enrol in, others you can just show up as you please. What's the best dance class for adults you've been to or know of in Sydney?
Norths Fitness Gym has some great dance classes on offer in well-fitted out studios. They actually offer styles that you don't always see elsewhere, such as tap, Broadway jazz and ballet. As someone who used to study ballet I really loved being able to show up and do a class when I felt like it. Of course, the downside is that you have to be a member of the gym to go.
Sydney Dance Company also offers amazing classes in their studios. These are taught by the company members, who are some of Australia's best contemporary dancers. They have contemporary, ballet, jazz, hip hop and more for all different levels, so you can even go if you're a beginner.
Awesome Q&A Kerri, thanks a million :) I like Hard Candy Fitness in the city. Have learnt ballet, jazz, Hip Hop and all different dances there. Even while visiting at V Club before moving here - the club prior to this place. Should check out Broadway Jazz & Ballet. Sydney Dance Company, great tips. Some of my new Sydney friends attended Brent Street School of Performing Arts at Rozelle (before it moved to Moore Park) while at high school.
The ladies that hold the flamenco dance classes at Sangre Espanola Spanish Dance Studio in Lillyfield are wonderful! The great thing about flamenco too is that you don't need a partner and it's a wonderful, bold dance style and a great workout too!
There is a studio out in The Hills called The Hills Adult Dance Academy which offers Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz and Hip Hop dance classes for adults. There are classes for beginners through to experienced dancers.
